An audience is a group of people and or individuals that receive information from the same source by listening or watching together (or by themselves) from various media of communication. These could be TV, Radio, Internet.
In marketing communication, and advertising most of the time, the message is directed towards a so-called “target audience”. A group of people that are not only engaging in using the same media but are in some way unified. The unification of the target audiences is made on the basis of superficial factors – age, gender, race, income – but also on psychological factors like – mental state, self-confidence, political predilections, openness to experience, etc.
