Ideological Superstructure is a term inspired by Karl Marx to denote the discursive practices (theology, philosophy, literature, etc.) that arose and were maintained through the economic base.
Different disciplines and discursive practices grow and stabilize from an economic base, but for Marx and his followers the economic base is primary and the ideological superstructure secondary.
The use of the term discursive practices is aimed at shedding light on the fact that even our theoretical inquiries are historically included and include practices.
These inquiries depend on the distribution of restricted sources and regardless of the wishes and intentions of practitioners serve in a certain way and to some extent the authorities responsible for the distribution of these sources.
