Feminism is an ideology, that, like other ideologies uses reductionism to explain complex issues like, for example, the one that the feminists most commonly cite – the rights to equal pay.
Like most ideologies, the feministic too has its roots in somewhat reasonable ideas, and “demands”. Yet, similar to everything in our world, this ideology as well has originated in a specific context which, more or less, justifies its emergence. Yet, much like with everything else, the people in the West hemisphere (of which the creator of this website is a member) do not understand that their issues are not everyone’s issues, and where the women may have needed to fight for their rights in the most western parts of the world – the Americas and the most western part of Europe, it was not so in Central and Eastern Europe. In the latter two, women did have the right to both vote and participate in political life.
Yet, today’s forms of feminism, even in the most western parts of our world – again, the Americas and the most western parts of Europe, first of all, don’t have a reason to exist, as women are largely one could say even privileged. Not only does the modern woman have more rights than modern man, almost everywhere around the world, especially when it comes to marriage and divorce, but women do find jobs easier and more pleasant jobs at that. Therefore, equal pay, which is a myth in itself, falls short to be proven, because it is not a logical argument, but an emotional one.
What is more, the current wave of feminism is more oriented towards some not specified form of equity, even if that means it will be at the expense of the women themselves.
Nevertheless, feminism, like every other ideology does and will continue to have its followers, which are incapable, or unwilling to find out whether the claims have any merit. Which, in most cases, for the modern western woman, they don’t.
